Reports:African Chapter is a new kid on the block and moving forward. We had a two day advocacy, training and outreach in one of the prisons here(name of this prison help for our security reason)when we went through the gate we were not allowed to carry a pen or writing pad,or any electronic gadget,we were told to remove our shoes and belts. And when we got inside the prison's ward where the 6 were being detained, the situation was worse. For 7 days they had not eaten anything,no water,no clothing,to saddles,no personal use and segregation. It took us when were went there to persuade the prison warders and offices to put them in the same place with others and we were told till that would only be done through court.Being that they dont know even when they will attend court again,no lawyer to represent them and no families allowed to see them,we managed to got a lawyer to present them until we get legal fee.We had nothing that we bought but needs included toiletries, food, clothings, shoes, reading materials, letters and medication.Next Monday we will again visit this facility and any advice and materials that we need will be helpful. We also need some funds for legal feel for lawyer representing these 6.We also would love to continue reaching communities with events, outreaches, programs and engage Government departments and civil societies. Most of these reports cannot be accompanied with photos-good that we share to all networks, chapters, members and coordinators:You can email:wycliffe.ngoya@gmail.com
